Post Hangar Privacy Policy

Applies to the Post Hangar app for iPhone and Mac. Last updated 26 September 2026.

Post Hangar is a creator publishing tool made by HC2 Creations LLC. You put a video into a project, write the version each platform needs, and schedule it. This policy says what the app keeps about you, where it goes, and how to get it back or delete it. It is written for what the app actually does; when that changes, this page changes first.

The short version

What the app keeps

Your account. Your email address and a password we never see in plain text, or, if you use Sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple gives us and the email address Apple shares (which can be a private relay address).

What you create. Projects, captions, titles, descriptions, hashtags, tag sets, text blocks, chapters, per-platform settings, schedules and their time zones, the platform account names you add, and the edit history of your captions so you can restore an earlier version.

Your media. The videos, cover frames and thumbnails you import. They are stored on the device you imported them on and uploaded to our storage, so your other devices can use them and, where you have connected a platform, so we can publish them for you.

Your devices. An identifier the app creates for each device, the device's name and type, and when it was last active. This is how your iPhone and Mac agree on which one reminds you about a post.

What happened to each post. Whether it was posted, skipped or missed, when, from which device, and, for posts we publish for you, the platform's post ID, link and any error it returned.

Permissions on your device

Connected platforms

Some features need you to connect an account on another platform. When you do, that platform gives us an access token and basic account details (such as your channel, page or account name and ID). We use them only to publish the posts you schedule, to check that a post went live, and to warn you before a connection expires. Tokens are encrypted and held on our servers only. Disconnecting an account, or deleting your Post Hangar account, deletes its tokens. You can also revoke access from the platform's own settings at any time.

YouTube. Post Hangar uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke Post Hangar's access at any time from Google's security settings.

TikTok. When you post to TikTok yourself, Post Hangar hands the video from your photo library to the TikTok app using TikTok's Share Kit. We do not receive your TikTok login or account details that way, only whether the share completed. The caption travels on your clipboard; TikTok does not let other apps fill it in. If you connect a TikTok account for direct posting, TikTok gives us an access token and the basic account and posting details its Content Posting API provides (such as your display name, avatar, the privacy options available to you, and the status of each post), used only as described above. What you do inside TikTok is covered by TikTok's Privacy Policy.

Instagram and Facebook. Connecting a professional Instagram account or a Facebook Page gives us an access token and the account or Page name and ID, used only as described above. Meta's handling of your data is covered by Meta's Privacy Policy.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of service providers to run the app. Each processes your data only to provide their service to us.

These providers may process data in the United States and other countries.

What we never do

Getting a copy

In the app, Settings → Export my data saves everything we hold about your account as a file, including a list of your uploaded media. It works offline, because a full copy of your data is already on your device.

Deleting your account

In the app, Settings → Delete account removes your account, everything you created, your uploaded media and any stored platform connections from our live systems, and clears the app's data on your devices. Copies in our routine backups are overwritten as those backups expire. If you cannot reach the app, email support@hc2studios.com from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. Items you delete are removed when you delete them, except the edit history of a caption, which is kept with the caption until the caption or the project is deleted.

Security

Data travels encrypted between the app and our servers. Each account can only read its own data. Platform tokens are encrypted with a key kept separately from the database that stores them.

Your rights

You can see, export, correct and delete your information from inside the app, or ask us by email. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under local law, such as the right to object to or restrict processing; email us and we will answer within 30 days.

Children

Post Hangar is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The platforms it posts to set their own minimum ages.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes are shown in the app before they take effect. We do not make changes retroactively.
